ahead of the pack, ahead of the curve
ビジネス関連のイディオムです。
この二つはともに、ahead of～ が共通です。ともに(競争に）先んじています。
カーブの先にいるわけで、時代に先んじている、先手を打っている
packは同種のものの集団＝群れ、という事。群れに一歩先んじている。
二つの表現ともに、stay ahead of the curve, のように覚えておくと使いまわしやすいかも。
You have to work and study hard if you want to stay ahead of the pack.
